The moment you enter the light-flooded room, you feel at ease. Welcome by the bright wood, exposed concrete, red brick and open kitchen. But Cafè Inca is not only special because of its interior design. The restaurant is also well known for its fresh local cuisine. And even more so for the great idea behind it all. Cafè Inca is run by the Esment foundation that integrates people with mental disabilities in the labor market.
Breakfast and Lunch
Locals like to come for breakfast in the morning. For a coffee, a freshly squeezed orange juice and a tostada, maybe. Or a treat from the artisan bakery, an ensaimada or a coca de patata.
Around lunchtime, the restaurant is busy with groups of friends and families. As usual, the bar is one of the most popular places. Where you can watch the chefs prepare your dish right in front of you in the open kitchen. Arroz and fideuà, for example, the specialties of Cafè Inca. Moreover, it is famous for the fantastic deserts.
Bread and pastries hand made every day in the obrador of Cafè Inca, including one of the best sourdough breads on the island. You can enjoy them at the restaurant or get some to take away. And if you have a party or an event to cater for, you can treat all your guests to Cafè Inca’s cuisine.
The Esment Foundation
Cafè Esment Inca is the fourth restaurant of the foundation. Most of the ecological vegetables used in the kitchens come from their gardens at Son Ferriol and Finca Galatzó. And with Gallinas & Focas Esment even offers a Mallorcan vino tinto in cooperation with the Bodega 4kilos.
For more than 60 years now, Esment has been providing professional apprenticeships, accommodation and support for handicapped young people and their families. Today, the foundation runs a vocational school, training facilities, an event center and catering service. And they work together with hundreds of companies on the island.
