Roast and toast: La Molienda

January 15, 2020August 3, 2020
La Molienda Palma de Mallorca

Serving specialty coffee but doing their own roasts was part of the plan right from the start. It took a little longer than expected but the result was worth the wait. They not only added a roastery but also built a luminous café around it. Light filters in through the spacious windows and soon everybody finds a favorite place. Watching street life or…

Cafè Palmanova

The name says it all. Esment is a genuine Mallorcan word. It means doing things with care, attention and tenderness. While in most restaurants it’s the chef who matters most at Cafè Palmanova it is everybody working there. And everybody who…

After years of getting up at three a.m. to keep watch, Greg decided that he needed a change. He had had just too much bad coffee, trying to stay awake. Sailing the Atlantic Ocean had always been his passion but his love for a decent brew was…

Winds of Mallorca There‘s an old Catalan song, Winds of Mallorca

There‘s an old Catalan song, Jota Marinera, that tells about the wife of a fisherman. She was always watching the wind. Because - if it came from the east or west, she did not have to worry about her husband. But if it came from another direction she knew it could be stormy and dangerous.
