Booklover’s delight: Literanta Llibres i Cafè

Barcelona is considered the Spanish capital of books and publishers. So it’s not amazing that Palma, often called Barcelona’s little sister, also has a lively book scene and even hosts its own annual book fair, the Fira del llibre. The city is full of book stores, some of them specialising in children’s, education, travel, used or antique books, others focussing on international literature in different languages. One of my favorites definitely is Literanta.

If you come in to look for a specific title or a new release or if you just want to browse – it’s always exciting to get lost between the tall shelves and the stacked book tables. Literanta is one of those wonderful places where you’re likely to find something you didn’t even know it existed. The store features a vast choice of classic and modern world literature as well as quite some distinguished categories such as film, music, art, history, travel, and many more, including a fine selection of children’s books.

Hidden in narrow Carrer Can Fortuny, just off Plaça de Santa Eulàlia, Literanta also has a nice bar, where you can linger on for a coffee or a dry Martini and immerse into your just acquired read, a recent magazine, or one of the many beautiful coffee table books.
