Double Shot: Doble Coffee & More

Sunlight filters softly through the foliage of the beautiful plane tree avenue. The air is nicely fresh here in Esporles at the foot of the Tramuntana. And time seems to pass a little slower. The smell of coffee and the cool design of Café Doble add an urban touch to the laid-back mountain village. Where Alba and Alex welcome you with a warm smile and a hot caffeine fix.

Doble Coffee & More is a great place to start the day, whether you like it sweet or savory. The tostadas are prepared with sourdough bread and loads of tasty ingredients. My fav though is eggs benedictine with marinated salmon on a homemade brioche. And the pancakes are heavenly, soft and thick and surrounded by fresh fruit. The perfect match for a cup of specialty coffee.

Doble Coffee reminds of double shot, and rightly so, as Alex and Alba confirm. It’s the basis of a decent coffee. But the name of their café also refers to themselves, the two founders. And it represents the principle of balance and duality, thus the yin-yang-like logo. Two months after opening, Café Doble has already become a coveted spot for both hikers and cyclists. If you’re looking for good coffee, just follow the cyclists.
