The hike from Cúber to Sóller connects two most beautiful places on Mallorca. Surrounded by the highest mountains of the Tramuntana the water reservoir resembles an aquamarin. Well filled this time, and the surface rippled by a strong wind. Small waves even hit the shore. And above the fantastic panorama the unmistakable radar worn by the Puig Major like a crown.

Shortly after leaving the Cúber behind the path rises through sparse pine forest. And soon we reach the iron cross on the pass below the cone-shaped Puig de l‘Ofre. A great place for a picnic with vistas both to the artificial lake and down to the Sóller valley to the other side. The Ofre to our back and the Cornador Gran to our left we enter the canyon, the Barranc de Biniaraix.

The views become more breathtaking after each turn. Watch your step, though, the now narrow trail often runs close to the edge. Then the cobbled pilgrim‘s path broadens again. Enough to walk side by side and share our enthusiasm about the beautifully terraced slopes and ancient olive groves.

Make sure you don’t miss the waterfalls. They are just a few steps off the main route. Follow the sound of the cascades and you will easily discover this enchanted place. In the summer months they are usually completely dry. But the other day a strong jet poured into the sunlit natural pool. I was tempted to take a quick dip into the crystal clear water. When all of a sudden a rope came down the fall. Followed by the leader of a canyoning group rappelling into my little paradise.

So I set off again. Hiking further down with the water next to me, crossing it two times on wooden bridges. Finally, the Barranc de Biniaraix reaches the picturesque village of the same name. Between blooming gardens, orange and lemon plantations I follow the road towards the center of Sóller. And deeply inhale the scent of the orange blossoms. Captivated by those trees that bloom and bear fruit at the same time. Estilo Palma
