The bright red window frames and place mats remind of perfectly ripe tomatoes. And if you squint your eyes the soft light reflected by the mares walls may pass for summer sun. All you need now is a Neapolitan pizza or a plate of pasta and you’ll feel like you’re in Italy. But that’s exactly why you came to Dadalìa Pizza Bar.
You can tell and taste that the founders of Dadalìa love what they do. The name alone is a witty reference to dadaism, expressing an unconventional way of thinking, and their pet dog Lìa. But when it comes to pizza and pasta they take things very seriously.
In addition to the classics, there’s always a few changing specialties on the pizza menu. And there’s a reason, or two, to be precise. The obvious reason is the season. But the variety also ensures that the pizzaiolo never gets bored, as Jacopo admits, tongue in cheek. So the pizza romana came with red tuna from Sicily and capers from Pantelleria.
Km bueno is Dadalía’s concept of sourcing the best ingredients as close as possible. The result is a best of Southern Italy and Mallorca on your plate. Prepared in an original Stefano Ferrara oven in the open kitchen right in front of the guest tables.
Of course, Pasta is an option, too. And here again, you can choose between popular dishes and scrumptious variations. Homemade tagliatelle with cacio y pepe, the traditional pasta, with truffled oil, for example.
The logo of Dadalìa Pizza Bar is a slice of pizza. And if you’ve been ever been in doubt about the right way to enjoy the Italian signature dish, a framed poster on the wall opposite the kitchen states: „La vera pizza si mangia così“.
