The Duke: Aloha Santa Cata

Hawaii meets Mallorca. The Duke in Santa Catalina offers a blend of Asian, Latin and Mediterranean cuisine. In the laid-back atmosphere of a driftwood beach bar among surfers. Patiently waiting for the next big waves or hungry from riding them all day.

Start with one of the house classics, cocktails accompanied by crispy green banana chips. If you get a table close to the bar, you can watch the barkeeper preparing them right in front of you. Making the choice even harder but at least you get some inspiration for the next drink.

The Duke considers itself different from traditional restaurants, fuss-free and diverse. An atmosphere of freedom to choose according to the mood you are in. Among the great ceviches, Duke 09 is always a safe bet. The Mallorcan dorada comes with avocado, cilantro, red onion, and tomatoes in a green pea gazpacho. A perfect light meal on a summer day.

Or, if you are into tacos – and who isn’t – go for the vegan Mexican or the pulled beef tacos with smoked chipotle and fresh cilantro. And while we are in the culinary region of the Caribbean, we finish dinner with a piece of Duke’s key lime pie.

Eat well, travel often. The motto of the two founders Juanjo and Ronny speaks from the heart of their guests from all over the world. The Hawaiian greeting Aloha stands for love, affection, peace and compassion. And that’s the atmosphere that The Duke wants to convey.
