On a golden-morning break, a group of cyclists pulls up outside the café terrace. Sunlight filters through the large windows, illuminating the open kitchen and the clean, white surfaces inside. Locals and visitors chat, the hum of conversation mixing with the hiss of the espresso machine. This is the setting of La Molienda Pollença, a spot where mountain air meets urban-coffee expertise.

When you ride into Pollença, whether on a road bike or a leisurely drive, you feel the change, the calm, the light. And before even entering the labyrinth of the old town, you find La Molienda. Cyclists cast off helmets, locals stroll in for the merienda, and the café terrace becomes a meeting point.

Not Just Any Café
La Molienda Pollença isn’t just any café. It’s part of a story that began in Palma and now branches into the valley beneath the Serra de Tramuntana. The menu includes classics like the signature brioche with tomato, avocado and a poached egg. You’ll also find sourdough toasts topped with seasonal ingredients, freshly baked pastries, and light brunch plates. All of them pair beautifully with a smooth flat white or a slow-brewed filter.

From Palma Roots to Pollença Homecoming
Back in Palma, La Molienda began in 2013 with the first specialty coffee shop in the city. Soon their cafés in Bisbe and later Arxiduc followed, setting a new standard for island coffee culture. And as the business grew, La Molienda started roasting its own beans, focusing on traceable origins, lighter roasts, and clarity of flavor.

Now, the youngest member of the family, La Molienda Pollença, is not only a new location, but a return-to-roots. Meet Toni at La Marzocco. Not only is this his café, it’s a homecoming, both for him and his cousin and co-founder Miguel who originally come from Pollença. Together, they’re bringing a touch of urban Palma energy and their finely tuned coffee craft back to their hometown.

Freshly Modern and Deeply Mallorcan
Inside, the café is bright and minimalist. Clean lines, plenty of glass, and a sense of openness that draws the outside in. Large windows frame the terrace, and the mountain light spills inside, bridging interior and exterior. The open kitchen means you can see the preparation, smell the toast, hear the bean-grinding. La Molienda Pollença is a place that melds specialty-coffee culture with laid-back island charm. One that feels both freshly modern and deeply Mallorcan. ![]()
