The festival of architecture for non-architects is just around the corner. During Open House Palma 2024 you can take a look behind the doors of the most emblematic buildings on Mallorca. More than 60 edifices and spaces that are usually not freely accessible open their doors to the public, representing the design and architecture of la ciutat. And Open Walks will take you through Palma’s historic barrios.

Among the impressive list of places are the Palau del Consell and the Consolat de Mar, the seat of the Balearic government. Historic landmarks like the lighthouse in Porto Pí and the Castell de Bellver. Or ancient sites like the Banys Àrabs.

Open House Palma is a truly diverse and multidisciplinary event. And by opening its heritage to residents, visitors and professionals alike, the city promotes dialogue and participation.

You can even visit the workshop of Joan Miró, learn more about oceanography or waste treatment on the island.

Admission is free. For some buildings, though, you have to register in advance. The most popular places are fully booked soon, so be sure to sign up early. In the days leading up to the Open House weekend on November 9 and 10 a series of guided tours and lectures will take place.

Open Photo, a photography contest, invites all participants to capture the symbiosis between people and architecture. And show how urban spaces come to life.

Open House Palma is part of an international movement. While the festival in Palma is taking place for the fourth time this year, Open House Worldwide has been promoting the participation of citizens, especially those from underrepresented groups, since 1992. Encouraging and enabling them to learn about architecture and urban development, and to take part in shaping their future.
