Maricastaña: Flashy Fashion

Flashy colors, fancy patterns, and funky designs. That’s Maricastaña in a nutshell. Good vibes included. You can tell the two founders Victoria and Sergio love what they do. No hacemos clientes hacemos amigos, says a sign behind the counter of their fashion store in the old town of Palma. And you really feel like a friend rather than a client when you leave the store.

If you are looking for an outfit that puts you in high spirits, here’s where you’ll find it. Maricastaña works with small Spanish labels but they also have their own brand La Vida Mola, The Cool Life. Dresses, skirts and monos, blouses and shirts for both women and men.

The store on Plaça de la Mercè boasts beautiful details, like hydraulic floor tiles or a low vaulted ceiling. Victoria and Sergio carefully added some vintage elements here and there. While the decor is not for sale, unfortunately, there are plenty of fun accessories to treat yourself or a good friend. Costume jewelry, printed tote bags, slogan clack fans, just right for the summer heat.

Just recently, the couple celebrated the 8th anniversary of Maricastaña. Eight years full of energy, great ideas, and good humor. „Los pequeños comercios son la magia de la ciudad“, Vicky points out, the small stores are the magic of the city. Indeed, all these enterprises thrive on the tireless dedication of their owners. And they make Palma the unique city it is, livable and lovable for locals and visitors.
