Sadrassana Restaurant: Drinks and Dinner

Just a few steps away from La Lonja the cocktail restaurant Sadrassana occupies the plaça of the same name. The renowned Galería Horrach Moyà used to present works by contemporary artists on the upper floor of the magnificent 19th century mansion. But after the sudden death of the owner the family just now decided to close the gallery. The ground floor, though, is still a great venue for drinks and dinner.

There is a nice selection of cocktails and aperitifs and if you are looking for a personal favorite, Kevin is happy to mix it for you expertly. Like the Maracuja sour, the latin lover of drinks. If you like to share the pleasure of having dinner together, you can go for a number of tapas para compartir. Maybe it’s the mind-set but some of the dishes actually look like small pieces of art.

The cuisine of Sadrassana is best described as modern, organic, and with a local twist. The Mallorcan coca is always a good choice, there are several different types. And the roasted eggplant with honey and lemon thyme, just the right mix of sweet and crispy. Nicely complemented by the acidity of the ceviche and the tuna tataki.

Whether you’re sitting inside or prefer the casual atmosphere outside on the plaza, the surroundings might seem somehow familiar. Sadrassana was the setting for some scenes of The Night Manager. The famous series based on a John le Carré novel was filmed mainly on Mallorca. But if you have a close look, you will notice that the terrace once even stood in for a restaurant in Madrid.
