Mediterranean Bistro: 13% Palma

**** After more than 20 years, 13% closed its doors for good in July 2025. ****

Wine racks line the colorful walls of the cozy bistro-style restaurant. 13% is located in the basement of an ancient building on one of Palma’s most beautiful streets. Regulars and guests from all over the world love the relaxed atmosphere and the mouthwatering menu.

How can a piece of bread with sobrassada, gratinated with goat cheese and tomato jam, ever be so good? And there are more delicious treats from the kitchen. Like the carpaccios. The carpaccio de ternera comes with organic beef and almonds, delicious. But for me it’s the carpaccio de berenjena. Wafer-thin slices of eggplant, finished with truffle oil, almonds and parmesan cheese, that are melting on your tongue.

When Bea Drack opened 13% in 2005, she called it a tapas bar. Actually, the menu is a creative Mediterranean mix of small dishes with a slight North-African twist. Meats and eggs are from organic farming, the coffee is fair-trade, and there are plenty of vegetarian options. Not to forget the impressive choice of wines from Mallorca and the peninsula.

Meanwhile, Bea’s daughter Zoe runs the restaurant, supported by a great team in service and kitchen. Whether for a light lunch, a couple of tapas along the way or a night out with friends, 13% is a real feel-good place.
