Dunes and sea: Can Gavella

Playa de Muro is one of the most beautiful beaches on Mallorca. And Can Gavella got a particularly nice view of the bay of Alcudia. A wooden flight of stairs leads to the chiringuito nestled in the dunes. Gentle waves provide the background sound to the subtle music from the bar. Even on a hot day it’s easy to enjoy yourself in the shade of the reed umbrellas or under the pergola with its upside-down senallas, the traditional Mallorcan wicker baskets.

Many regulars come to Can Gavella for arroz or fideuá, a kind of paella with noodles. But I go for grilled fish. Very typical with potatoes from the oven, salad and vegetables. Before that, a fresh salad with avocado and mango, accompanied by a cool drink. It really doesn’t take much to be happy. Even if there is no room left for dessert a café solo at the end is a must. And while your bare feet are idly digging in the sand time seems to come to a standstill for another while.

Soon the sea beckons for a swim. A few steps only and we plunge into the water. The white sandy beach is gently sloping. Reflecting the sunlight an intense turquoise, the color of Can Gavella: „La vida son esos pequeños y grandes recuerdos que vamos creando con los años. La vida es caminar por la playa, zambullirse en el mar, tomar una cerveza con los amigos …“ Life is the small and big memories we create over the years. Life is a walk on the beach, a jump into the sea, a beer with friends … . Nothing to add.
