A still life: Tacet - Estilo Palma

A while ago, I noticed this small vintage store on Carrer Samaritana. Whenever I passed it, I shot a glance at the bright red clay jug displayed on a small antique table, virtually an eye-catcher. Until one day I went inside on an impulse and bought the lovely old-fashioned piece. And discovered a lot more precious things.

Tacet is half store, half art collection. Vicent, who is one of the Tacet-founders and whom I met in the store that day, was happy to tell me more about it. You will find real fancy chairs, tables, mirrors, reliefs, pictures and also some amazing lamps, that are designed by himself. Some things are diverted from their intended use and now serve as something completely different, such as the iron frame of a doll’s bed now used as a bedside rack.

Tacet is Latin and means „Silent!“. It is also the order for a singer or musician to stay quiet for a defined period of time within a piece of music. For the Laboratorio artistico the name says it all – for their work, as well as for their works. So if you come by next time, step inside and dwell in this timeless atelier.
