After I bought some prints at an exhibition last year I was looking for a framer. And by chance discovered some nicely framed pictures at La Molienda. When I asked Toni about the frames he recommended Ramón Bellas Artes just across the street. I must have passed it numerous times but had never noticed the marvelous store. From brushes to knifes to pens and all sorts of colors and accessories this is painter’s paradise. And once you are done painting Carles and Rubén will gladly help you to get the right frame.

It doesn’t matter if it is a picture painted by your child or by Picasso, Carles and Rubén treat every work as if it were a masterpiece. And indeed, the right frame accentuates even the most simple picture. Whether it is a single painting, a mirror or a complete exhibition, the process of framing starts with questions and imagination. Rámon Bellas Artes was founded more than forty years ago. In 2010 Carles and Rubén took over, continuing the traditional craftmanship. Ramón’s workshop still nicely smells of colors, wood, paper and glue. The way of framing remained similar to what it was, style and taste, however, change over time. While older customers today prefer plain light-colored wood to golden frames it is the young people who go for heavy baroque. With Rámon Bellas Artes each generation sets the scene for a picture in a new way.
