The air is charged with excitement, streets glow softly in the festive illumination, and children clutch their parents’ hands just a little tighter. On January 5, Palma pauses. Then, suddenly, it sparkles. While Christmas fades elsewhere, Mallorca saves its biggest moment for last. The Cabalgata 2026, the arrival of the Three Kings, will be loud, emotional, crowded, and absolutely unforgettable.

A Night of Anticipation
Long before the parade begins, spectators line the streets. Children sit on shoulders, point toward the harbor, and ask the same question again and again: “When will they arrive?” Adults smile, remembering their own childhood.

At 6 pm, all eyes turn towards Moll Vell, the historic harbor. Here, the Three Kings arrive by sea, greeted with cheers, music and flashing lights. Immediately after, the mayor hands over the key to the city, symbolically opening every home in Palma. With that, the Cabalgata begins, and the magic moves into the streets.

Everyone Has a Favorite Viewing Spot
In Palma, watching the Cabalgata is a family tradition. Some swear by Passeig del Born for its wide space and festive atmosphere. Others prefer La Rambla, where kids often catch the most sweets.

Meanwhile, locals with patience claim Jaume III offers the best views of the floats. And families with young children often choose Plaça Cort staying put for the grand finale when the Three Kings appear on the town hall balcony. Waving to the crowd before heading off to deliver gifts.

Cabalgata 2026: A Renewed Parade
Led by the Star of the East, the parade flows through Palma’s main streets like a living storybook. Skaters glide past, dancers move in rhythm, and marching bands fill the air with sound.

This year, the parade has been completely renewed, making it the most ambitious edition to date. 24 floats will roll through Palma, each one designed to captivate the imagination. And all participants will wear newly created costumes.

Homage to Traditional Mallorcan Craftsmanship
At the same time, many floats pay tribute to traditional Mallorcan crafts and trades. Artisans, tools, and symbolic scenes remind spectators that this celebration is rooted not only in fantasy, but also in the everyday work and creativity that shape local identity.

The Three Kings Take Center Stage
The highlight of the Cabalgata are, of course, the Three Wise Men themselves. Melchior, Gaspar, and Balthazar each travel on their own float, accompanied by a distinct entourage. Every group is inspired by the culture of the King’s country of origin. Together, they represent diversity, generosity, and unity, values that lie at the heart of Epiphany.

The Spirit of Christmas
The Cabalgata is a cherished annual ritual that connects generations and keeps the spirit of Christmas alive. It’s filled with emotion and shared memories. And for the kids, hopefully, with pockets full of candy thrown from the floats. ![]()
