Act Series: Mediterranean Footwear

For me, espadrilles are the perfect summer shoes. Whether for a city walk, a day on the beach or the tapas bar at night, they are not only comfortable but always in style. Sadly, the plain footwear usually starts to fall apart at the end of the season. Unless you go for a pair of leather espadrilles like the ones from Act Series. Timeless designs, soft leather and bright pastels make them unmistakable. Once tried on, you don’t want to take them off again.

Established 2013 in Berlin and Mallorca, Act Series was inspired by cosmopolitan cool and Mediterranean ease. They offer a new collection for women and men every year, yet they don’t follow seasons. Wholly handmade in Spain from natural leather or suede, straw and rubber, Act’s shoes are designed to be worn for a long time. They come in small quantities, the stamped number on the strap or sole telling you serial and year of the respective collection.

Isabel Rotger, co-founder of Act, joined forces with SURO Swimwear and Datura, two more Mallorca-based brands dedicated to style, sustainability and craftsmanship. Together they opened a summer studio in the fabulous rooms that used to be home to addict, my favorite menswear store in Palma. A cool place to pop in on a hot day.
