Carsharing in Palma: Muvon

One thing I always missed on Mallorca was carsharing. In Berlin I frequently rent a car just for a couple of hours. When Antonio Toledo and Belén Larraz were living in Madrid they did just the same. And developed a bold idea. They returned to Toni’s hometown Palma to launch Mallorca’s first carsharing company: Muvon, all electric and 100% eco-powered.

Owning a car is expensive and to be true most of the time the car is just parked some place. If you live in the city center bicycle or public transportation often are an alternative. But sometimes you just need a vehicle, whether business-wise or private. To meet a client or visit a friend out of town, run an errand at the hardware store, or take a trip to the countryside on the weekend.

This is exactly where Muvon comes in. You pick up a car just when you really need it and only pay for the time you actually used it. If you never tried an electric car you’ll be surprised, Muvon’s Renault ZOE is as agile as conveniant and a lot of fun to ride. With its fast acceleration you feel like being pulled forward by an elastic.

The only issue with electric cars usually is the battery hence the range of your ride. No worries with Muvon, though. There is plenty of capacity and Mallorca the perfect place for e-mobility. You can go everywhere you want and back without even thinking of recharging. Plus, moving around the island free of noise and emissions is not only cool but also a great benefit for the environment.

For me, Mallorca is the perfect place to pioneer a totally sustainable mobility concept. Muvon just started to make this vision more feasable. Prices are 5 Euros per 30 minutes, or only 3 Euros if you go for a monthly subscription. And within the avenidas you can even park for free in all blue zones.
