February to May is the cyclists’ season on the island. My favorite time is right now, in early April when the green is fresh and lush, the meadows are full of blossoms, and the air is warm but not yet hot and still clear, so the mountains are sharply silhouetted against the blue blue sky. And then there are the scents of Mallorca – from the pine trees of the Tramuntana to the wild flowers in the plains. And if you were just about to forget that Mallorca is an island, a salty breeze from the ocean may take you by surprise. Take a deep breath and feel that summer is on its way.
