An espresso closes a meal and leaves the final impression of it. So it’s not surprising that foodies as well as restaurants pay more and more attention to its quality. If a place serves Salar coffee, you can almost always be sure that their food is just as good. It’s the dedication for quality and taste, the best ingredients and the right way to prepare it, that Salar stands for.
Enrike Salar Llompart founded his company in a garage in Palma about ten years ago. At a time when, from his perspective, only Italian brands met the highest standards of coffee and many Mallorcans didn’t really care for a decent cappuccino or real espresso anyway. Together with his partner Karen Bragagnolo, Enrike developed the brand, established a network of great restaurants and bars all over the island serving their coffee, and invested in brand building and marketing. Salar’s De-Luxe-Edition Gold is a wonderful blend of superior Arabica beans with a dash of „Indian Cherry“ – a Robusta bean that is highly aromatic. They all come from Rain Forest Alliance farms, producing under fair working and sustainable ecological conditions. Soon the Mallorca Coffee Company will open its first online store.
Taste and texture of coffee are of the essence, of course, together with its smell. And indeed, the very smell of a cup of coffee can make my day. But I have to admit, that I also fell for the stylish design of Salar and once in a while I quote the slogan, slightly tongue-in-cheek: „Are you salar?“. For me these three words somehow capture the mediterranean feeling and lifestyle. Yes, I am Salar.
